2013 Honda Brio Amaze Release date, Price, Interior, Exterior, Engine. - The 2013 Honda Brio Amaze, a funky new four-door sedan, has launched but its aimed at buyers in Thailand, not the U.S. Released late last week in Thailand, the imaginatively named Amaze is a three box spin off from the Brio, Hondas small signature five door hatchback thats made in both Thailand and India.
Honda has reconfigured the sheet metal to create this Brio with a trunk, which also gets its own custom suspension settings and stands roughly the same size as a U.S. market Honda Fit. Power comes from Hondas successful 1.2-litre i-VTEC four cylinder engine, which is good for 90 horsepower in this tune. Price spans 450,000 - 21,000 baht (some $14,645 to $16,956) but for Thai buyers signing up for the Amaze as their first car, theres a 73,000 baht ($2,375) rebate.
The exterior styling is sleek with distinctive character lines from front to rear, enhanced by a sporty chrome grille and bumpers in the same color as the body. The newly-designed tail lamps are complemented by chrome accents for a sleeker look. Powered by a 1.2 liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, 90-horsepower SOHC i-VTEC engine, the new Brio Amaze offers fuel consumption of 5 liter on every 100 km.

Honda’s back and how!...” It may be noted that the 1.5 litre Earth Dreams iDTEC diesel engine on duty in the Honda Brio Amaze is closely related to the highly publicized 1.6 litre i-DTEC motor from the car maker. Also, the smaller oil burner was developed along with the bigger sibling. The new motor is Euro 4 compliant.
Honda has refrained from revealing the power figures but we do have come to know that the max. torque output is pegged at 200Nm and the engine is mated to a five speed manual gearbox. This means that the Honda 1.5 iDTEC has only marginally more torque than the 1300cc Fiat Mulitjet that powers many cars in India. The Honda Brio Amaze tips the scales at 1,050kgs.
The Amaze will be available with a petrol engine as well. No prizes for guessing which engine will be propelling it though. Yep, the 1.2 liter i-VTEC with 90PS and 110Nm currently powering the Jazz and the Brio. The engines will initially be mated to a 5-speed manual tranbsmission, with auto options following at a later date. Like the Brio hatchback, the Brio Amaze compact sedan too will be available in auto variant. It will be the same 5 speed automatic transmission that does duty on the Brio Auto hatchback. As is being reported, the motor has been well tuned and doesn’t really suffers from turbo lag. However, it has also emerged that Honda needs to work a bit on the NVH levels.
