Maserati unveiled the GranTurismo MC Stradale at the 2010 Paris Auto Show and two years later, the company is bringing the MC Stradale package back, but it’s the GranCabrio that will benefit from its features. The GranCabrio MC is 48 millimeters longer than the standard GranCabrio and will adopt a highly sporty and aggressive look. Its front end was inspired by the coupe version of the MC Stradale, while the rear gets a large spoiler, with the third brake light built into the luggage compartment inside the spoiler.

Exterior :
The new, sporty look can be seen in each stylistic element of the GranCabrio MCs bodywork. Inspired directly by the cars of the Maserati Trofeo MC World Series and the GT4 version, the new design perfectly blends sportiness, dynamism, the search for aerodynamic perfection, elegance and style. These stylistic elements already partly characterised the GranTurismo MC Stradale and the GranTurismo Sport, and seamlessly unite form and function.
Thanks to experience gained in racing and above all to specific analysis of fluid dynamics, the new GranCabrio MC has an aerodynamic lift coefficient (measured at 140 km/h) which is 10% lower at the front and 25% lower at the rear compared to the GranCabrio and GranCabrio Sport. The bonnet incorporates two generous air outlets at the centre to optimise cooling of the powerful V8, and two more air outlets to cool down the brake discs have also been added to the two front wings.

Special attention was paid to the ergonomic and comfort as pects of the CR-Z’s interior. The seats have been completely redesigned and are made of high-quality materials. The rear passengers will now enjoy 20 mm more legroom thanks to a redesigned frame for the front seats. The seats were also revised to provide more lateral containment to keep the driver firmly planted in place whilst whipping the GranCabrio MC through the twisties without impeding on comfort. For those that desire a little extra sport, Maserati is also offering optional carbon-fiber seat frames.

If true, this means the MC Stradale convertible will get a stronger version of Maseratis 4.7-litre V8 engine delivering 453Hp (460PS / 338kW) and 520Nm (383 lb-ft), or 10hp and 20Nm more than the GranCabrio. At least in coupe guise, the MC Stradale is also lighter (110kg or 242 pounds) than the "Sport" model and also features faster gear changes from the MC Race Shift electro-actuated transmission and more hardcore suspension settings. The visual upgrades, as seen from these photos, include the redesigned front and rear bumpers, hood air scoops, a deep rear diffuser with twin tailpipes, a boot lid spoiler and different alloy wheels.
